ACT NOW
Take Action
Although the FedEx MEC has already cast their lot without fully understanding the impact of our inclusion in Part 117, that ship has sailed. Because of our MEC's actions, ALPA and its lobbyists are pushing "The Safe Skies Act of 2019" in the halls of the House and Senate office buildings. The only way to stop it now is in Congress. The Bills (H.R. 5170 and S. 826) have been introduced and will be heard by the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation. The best hope to stop the decimation of our bidpacks, is to get the legislation killed in the respective committees. If the bills make it out of those committees then the focus must be on all members of both bodies.
1. Complete the petition form on the Home Page.
2. Write to members of the House and Senate committees considering the Bills.
The best chance we have at defeating this threat to our lifestyle is having the Bills killed in committee. Below are links to the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee (Aviation Subcommittee) and the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, (Aviation and Space Subcommittee). Click the links and contact the members. A sample letter is also provided...please feel free to cut and paste any or all.

3. If/When the Bills clear committee, write to your representative and your senators to kill the Bills in the floor votes in the House and Senate. Consider Writing the Bill Sponsors/Cosponsors.
Please click the link below to find your Representative and your Senators. Take the time to write to them. ALPA purports to represent us, but here they are not so Congress needs to hear from ALPA members that our voices have been ignored by our collective bargaining agent. Below are links to locate your Representative and your Senators.
